Attitude of Gratitude

Attitude, gratitude, perception, and peace... I strongly believe that this is the recipe for happiness. True happiness that you can feel in your bones and the deepest parts of your soul. It’s not just a fleeting feeling; it’s the core of your being. Your foundation.

Having an attitude of gratitude is a lifestyle that must be lived daily (or almost daily, we’re only human after all). Being thankful for our blessings is important, yes, but recognizing them daily, no matter how big or small, and acknowledging them is the beginning of it all.

As human beings, we often forget to focus on these incredible things that exist around us daily. We start out as with an insatiable desire for exploring. We are full of wonder and every little thing blows our minds. Over time, life happens, and we inevitably find ourselves jaded. Our wonder and excitement dulls. But what happened to that child inside of us? The one whose mind was blown by even the tiniest things around us?! They’re still in there, they just get silenced and dimmed by all of the world’s tragedies and obstacles.

Looking at the world through those wonderous eyes can change your whole mindset. Everything begins to seem so much more vibrant and beautiful. That old lamp post now looks like a historical piece that should be in a museum. Weeds look like incredible wildlife sanctuaries. Everyone and everything has a story that you can appreciate.

There are tiny miracles happening all over. This is not being ignorant or putting your head in the sand for important and painful circumstances surrounding us. It is simply giving yourself a reason to smile and fill you heart with gratitude. It changes the way that you think, move, and feel. It is the sparkling light in world that is often dark.
